The oil based printing ink takes around 5 days to dry, I will try and get your block print printed and ready to send within 10 days.
I carved this olive tree out of a Lino block. The original pencil sketch was a birthday present for my father. This image has become very poignant at this time as the olive tree is so connected to the Palestinian people who are suffering so intensely now and have been for so long. My father has been a life long supporter and activist for the Palestinian people. The olive tree is a symbol of their wholesome resilience and also a reminder of what has been forcibly taken away from them. This tree is an illuminated symbol of hope and of what can not ever be taken away. With its roots firmly entwined in the sacred geometrical pattern of the ‘breath of the compassionate’ an 8 fold pattern symbolising expansion, contraction, grounding, stability and the earth. It’s strong ancient trunk spiralling in time, weathering with beauty. The leaves, branches and olives providing medicine, nourishment, fire’s warmth and tools and the etheric energy of the olive tree reaching out beyond materiality, the essence of which will always strengthen anyone who has tended and grown an olive tree.
